No, I haven't won the lottery. And if I had, I'd hope that our winnings would total more than $50K, a figure that probably wouldn't even put a dent in our home loan and would be completely dwarfed by the amount of money I'm due to spend on my boys before they graciously move out at eighteen.
But I'm still pretty excited, because even though I don't have that extra pocket change, today is the day I hit 50,000 views.
It's pretty neat, actually, because the end of this month marks one year of blogging and oversharing my kids' eccentricities. It really feels like we've gone on a journey together, doesn't it? Like in the beginning when I made so many references to needing a drink that people started believing I had an alcohol problem? Or when I got nominated for a national blog award and you fine people voted me up high enough (1st place for a day, haters!) to stay on the main results page and allowed me to find new readers who would grow to be concerned about my budding alcohol problem.
See? We're close now.
But it's no secret that things have been a little slow around here. With the school year wrapping up, Joel has been constantly occupied, while the rest of us have focused our eyes on the end-of-the-tunnel that is summer break, and there have been fewer early morning disasters and stuffed animal trysts to document.
Never fear. I give it two weeks of summer before either Cael sets fire to the house or Graham smacks a little old lady on the butt at church. Until that time, however, I thought I'd take a page from a few of my other blogging friends and turn the tables a bit. Because in our 50,000 visits, I've never given you an opportunity to ask me a question.
Is there something you want to hear me "sound off" about? Curious about Cael's take on the motorhome debacle? Care to hear Graham attempt to recite the Pledge of Allegiance? Interested in how Joel and I met? Need a new cocktail recipe?
Apparently, I'm your woman.
So bring it on. Let me know what you want to hear, and I'll promise to overshare as usual. You just promise to come back for 50,000 more. :)
Hmm...let's see haha
ReplyDeleteHow about a little post from the future---ya know, imagining what your little cherubs' lives will look like in 20 years or so? ;-)
Thanks, Shawna! I'm hoping to post the answers on Monday, so you'll have to check back in!
DeleteCongrats! Love reading your blog- your kids are too cute. I have a 10 month old so I'm interested in schedules/daily routines and would love to see 'a day in the life' with 2 children. You seem like a super-mom (whereas I barely survive each day.)
ReplyDeleteLiz- I'm SOOOOO far from a supermom. I think the fact that I take a lot of pictures perpetuates that image! A day-in-the-life is a good idea... I might just turn that into a full post. Thanks!
DeleteI am curious if you plan on being a sahm when both boys are in school full time or if you plan to get a job. I am currently a sahm to a 15 month old and I am not sure what I am going to do so I find it interesting to hear what others are thinking :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 50,000 views! That is fantastic and I really enjoy your blog!
Thanks, Robyn! I will be sure to answer that in my post... check back on Monday!
DeleteMary, Congratulations on 50,000 views!!! You have always been an inspiration to me and I definitely will be coming back for more! I am back to hogging the internet after being with my OH these past couple of weeks . (He lives abroad and comes home only twice a year...) so I really have a LOT of catching up to do on your blog!
ReplyDeleteAnyways, since you are answering questions, I would really love to know how you and Joel met.. Just curious :) Hope you don't mind me asking and I think it will make a great blog post!! (hint, hint)
And did I mention that I think you are a great writer? :)
Love,
Shaz from Srilanka
Shaz- I'm glad you're back, I thought maybe I'd lost you along the way somewhere! I will definitely cover my intro to Joel... and you're right, that story might just be long enough for a full-length post! Glad you're back!
